2010 DECLARATION
As a nation we join together on this National Day of Thanksgiving to celebrate and give thanks to God for His blessings upon us as His people.
Your word declares that we should give thanks in all circumstances. So today we choose to be thankful for Your unceasing faithfulness and generosity towards us, we choose to be thankful for the love and care shown towards us by those with whom we share our lives, and we choose to be thankful inspite of the difficulties that come our way as we navigate our way through life. We declare we have a Saviour who is greater than all our circumstances.
We give thanks for the promise of your word that you will never leave us nor forsake us. We give thanks for your promise that no weapon formed against us can prosper. We give thanks that our hope is not based on earthly things but on things eternal. We acknowledge and rejoice in the truth of Your word to guide us, and the power of Your Spirit to save us.
Therefore tonight:
We declare that we will continue to honour Jesus Christ as Lord of our nation and of our lives.
We declare that we will, against all opposition and worldly temptation, continue to live according to His statutes and example.
We declare that we will continue to share His love and proclaim the truth of His teaching to people everywhere.
Forgive us Lord where we have failed in the past and renew a right spirit within us that we might truly reflect your character in all we are and in all that we do.
