2011 Declaration
This declaration is in 2 parts, the part that the leader of the event reads and the part that all attending read aloud.
Read by the Leader
We join
together as a Nation to celebrate and give thanks to Almighty God
for His blessings upon us as a Nation and as His people
The
word declares that we should give thanks in all circumstances.
So tonight, inspite of the challenges we have been through as a
nation, and inspite of the uncertainties we face, we choose to give
thanks in the sure knowledge that He has brought us through and will
continue to be our protector and provider through whatever
challenges lie ahead. Our faith is in Him for He is our
strength in the midst of trouble and our Deliverer from the darkness
of this world.
We give thanks for the promise of
His word that He will never leave us nor forsake us. We give
thanks for the promise that no weapon formed against us can prosper.
We give thanks that our hope is not based on earthly things but on
things eternal. We acknowledge and rejoice in the truth of His
word and the power of His Spirit to guide and save us.
Therefore tonight:
Read by all gathered
We choose to give
You thanks, for who You are, and for all the blessings You have
bestowed upon us. We thank You for life itself, for the
richness of the relationships that bind us together as members of
Your family, and for the certainty You promise of eternal life to
all who receive and acknowledge Your Son Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
We declare therefore that we will continue to honour You as Lord of
our Nation and of our lives.
We declare that we
will, against all opposition and wordly temptation, continue to live
according to Your statutes and example.
We declare
that we will continue to share Your love and proclaim the truth of
Your teaching to people everywhere.
Forgive us
Lord where we have failed in the past and renew a right spirit
within us that we might truly reflect Your character in all we are
and in all that we do.
