About Us - National Day of Thanksgiving - Desired Outcomes

  1. To express appreciation and thanks to our God and to each other for Australia, a blessed nation and a land filled with beauty, rich and rare.
  2. To give thanks to the one who formed us.
  3. To encourage all Australians to lift their hands in prayer and thanksgiving and to open their hearts in acknowledgement of a power far greater than ourselves
  4. Increased appreciation of Australia's Christian heritage and the contributions made to our society by people of faith
  5. A broader recognition that faith is an integral and important factor in health and wellbeing
  6. To recognize the fact that love is still the most powerful force in the universe. Every time we say 'thank you' we increase the force of love in our life
  7. An opportunity to thank our national leaders, parliamentarians, and those who work for and on behalf of the common good for the people of Australia
  8. An occasion to extend our thanks to the armed forces, police force, fire and rescue services and the many organizations that make Australia a better place
  9. The occasion for every Australian, regardless of culture or belief structure, to be involved by saying 'thank you' to someone.
  10. A time to thank mothers, fathers and families for the life they have given us.
  11. Increased cohesion for family relationships which will be strengthened by the verbalization of the value which we place on those whom we love
